Australian news and politics live: Anthony Albanese reveals details of Xi Jinping official talks in Beijing

Mr Li congratulated Mr Albanese on his re-election and for his “personal efforts” and the “joint efforts on both sides” for stabilising the China Australia relationship.
“China Australia relations have moved beyond a low point and returned to the right track of stability and development,” he said.
“Our pragmatic cooperation is brimming with renewed vitality and bringing real benefits to our two peoples.”
Mr Li said the PM’s visit at the start of his second term would provide “new momentum” for the two countries, cooperation and realtions.
He said since the pair last met in October last year, “a lot has happened in the world”.
“The world econonmy sees growing instability and uncertainty,” he said.
“The development of all countries is faced with new challenges, given such circumstances, China and Australia as important trade partners, should strengthen dialogue and cooperation.
“The siginicance of us doing so is becoming more notable.”
Mr Li said Mr Albanese and President Xi Jinping “reached important common understandings on deepening China Australia relations” in their meeting earlier on Thursday.
“China would like to continue to work with Australia for more outcomes in cooperation across the board, to deliver more benefits to our two peoples,” he said.
“I would like to exchange views with you on issues on common interest in an in-depth and candid manner.”
